Can you believe that How To Train Your Dragon 2 is less than 2 months away? I certainly can't! Anticipation is really starting to build, and Dreamworks has released some really great stuff to hold us over until the film finally arrives.
The third and final trailer has been released, but be warned: it contains the same major spoiler the last trailer had, and it spoils a few other scenes as well. I personally am staying away from this trailer (even though it kills me) since I'd much rather go into the film not knowing about the major emotional or action scenes.
What I have watched, on the other hand, is the first 5 minutes of the film released to Yahoo! the other day, and it is awesome! I figured it won't hurt to watch the first 5 minutes. There's no spoilers, and we've already seen a lot of it in previous trailers and clips.
Am I the only one who finds those sheep really hilarious? The way they're animated, the design with the bug eyes...it cracks me up every time I see one. And call me crazy, but I'm not convinced that's really the first 5 minutes. There's definitely some shots missing to squash the time down, as we see in this racing clip that was also released this week:
In addition to another official poster (seen at the top of this post), we were treated to another character poster! It's Valka and her dragon in the spotlight, courtesy of In The Works, the official Dreamworks Tumblr. The design of her dragon is really interesting and different from any of the other dragons we've met so far in this world; it almost reminds of a crab, mostly in the texture on the skin (scales?).
And lastly, movie stills courtesy of Cartoon Brew and The Rotoscopers! All of these shots are wonderful, but there's some in particular that I find to be absolutely stunning. It's amazing to see the difference in graphics between now and 2010. The hair rendering really seams to have improved.
Official Synopsis:
It’s been five years since Hiccup and Toothless successfully united dragons and vikings on the island of Berk. While Astrid, Snotlout and the rest of the gang are challenging each other to dragon races (the island’s new favorite contact sport), the now inseparable pair journey through the skies, charting unmapped territories and exploring new worlds. When one of their adventures leads to the discovery of a secret ice cave that is home to hundreds of new wild dragons and the mysterious Dragon Rider, the two friends find themselves at the center of a battle to protect the peace. Now, Hiccup and Toothless must unite to stand up for what they believe while recognizing that only together do they have the power to change the future of both men and dragons. How to Train Your Dragon 2 will release in theatres June 13, 2014.
Does Hiccup look way more cooler? I think so! Also, I can't wait to meet his mom. She looks like an interesting character! What are you excited the most about?
