Everyone has their own
rating system, from number scales to stars, to thumbs up or thumbs down and
everything in between. For me, watching a movie is an emotional
experience. Movies make me laugh and
cry, make me happy and angry. Because of
this, I can’t assign a film a number based on how good or bad I thought the
film was. I can't grade a film like a teacher would grade a report card. I rate a film based on how I
feel about it. How much I loved about
it, what I loved about it, how it made me feel, how much it reflects my own
life, and how often I would re-watch the film.. So without further ado, my rating
system from best to worst:
Perfection
This is they type of movie that I have absolutely no problems with. Everything is top notch: the characters, the story, the design, everything. I could watch movies like this over and over and never get tired of them.
Amazing
Almost perfect, but not quite. I'll have a few nitpicks that are enough to keep it from being perfect, but this type of film is still absolutely wonderful.
Great
Movies like this are the kind that I have bigger issues with, but still really love overall. Occasionally, a I'll label a film as Great even though I don't have a lot of problems with it. Sometimes, it's just the type of film that's really well put together, but I just don't love enough to call it Amazing.
Good
For me, this is the middle of the road kind of film. Enjoyable, but has a lot of problems. I might re-watch it every once in a while.
It’s Okay
A movie like this would be the kind of film that disappoints you, but not in a big way. There's some things you like about it, but overall it's not a memorable film and not one I would watch often. It has a lot of problems, but not enough to the point where it's a bad movie.
Bad
A film like this is the kind that has very few redeeming factors. There's not much good about this type of film. The only thing that keeps it from being Horrendous is the fact that I don't dislike it to the point where I actually loathe it. It may be a bad film, but it doesn't irritate me in the way a horrendous film would.
Horrendous
This type of movie is one that I absolutely despise. Terrible plot, terrible characters, bad humor, you name it. A movie like this would be the kind that would personally offend me in some way or just be so awful that it has absolutely nothing good about it all.
