'Making Of Frozen' Special To Air Tonight On ABC

Are you one of the thousands of fans let down by the disappointing lack of bonus features and behind the scenes featurettes on the Blu-ray/DVD release of Frozen?  Well, then you're in luck!  If you're one of the millions who hasn't had their fill of Frozen and is itching to know how they made "Let It Go", then ABC and Disney have a treat for you!

According to 7online.com, "The Story of Frozen: Making a Disney Animated Classic" is a one hour special giving viewers and exclusive look behind the scenes on the making of the film that will air tonight, September 2nd, and 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on ABC.  Throughout the special, you'll be hearing from artists and animators who worked on the film, directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, actors Kristen Bell (Anna) and Idina Menzel (Elsa), among others.  The special will be hosted by Josh Gad, the voice of the lovable snowman Olaf, as you can hear in the preview clips below.

In addition to getting a look inside the Walt Disney Animation studio and seeing the real world Norwegian influences for the film, the article mentions that viewers will get announcements about where the story of Frozen will go next (a sequel, perhaps?  Might be a bit too early for that) and will also be treated to a sneak peak of Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff on ABC's hit show Once Upon A Time, which enters it's fourth season this fall.  Last year's season left off on the cliffhanger that Frozen was coming to the little town of Storybrooke...

Despite the fact that I'm not a huge fan of Frozen, I honestly screamed like a little girl when I saw this because goodness, I do love Elsa!  And I'm interested to see which direction Once will take this.  It has been confirmed that all of the events we see in Season 4 take place after the film, and that Anna and Kristoff are engaged to be married.

But that's not all we're getting...we'll also be treated to an exclusive sneak peak of Big Hero 6!

For those of you who can't stay up to watch the special (like me, grumble grumble) or have other plans, I think it's pretty safe to say that it will be available on Hulu the next day.  Marvel ran a one hour special on the Marvel Cinematic Universe earlier this year on ABC, and it ran on Hulu the next day.

Here's hoping that a great reception to this special will convince Disney to release a special edition of Frozen, with bonus features!  Because that Blu-ray really was disappointing.  Seriously, Disney, we know you can do better than that.  As Elsa would say, Let It Go!
