Only 3 More Days...

...until The Clone Wars, in all of its 6 season glory, hits Netflix!!  On Friday, fans will finally have the episodes we've been waiting for since last March.  It's been a long year, and I can't believe it's almost here!  To help quench our thirst, I've searched for all preview clips released and posted them below to drool over (and analyze; I won't just gush, I promise!).  Two of them were actually released to the internet last year, and three more were released this week!  But beware, one clip in particular does contain spoilers, so read at your own risk...

I'll just go ahead and discuss the clip with spoilers first.  So if you haven't seen the show, just skip past this first part.

SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS

This was actually the first clip released last year...and not only does it look amazing, but it looks like we're finally going to get some answers to one of Star War's mysteries: Order 66.  Ever since it's appearance on screen in Revenge of the Sith, there have been many questions about the nature of the order.  Is it programmed into the clones?  Was it flash-trained?  Was Order 66 a secret among the clones unbeknownst to the Jedi?  The Expanded Universe has attempted to answer these questions, but here we're finally getting it straight from George himself.  It's also important to note that Tup, the clone who shot the Jedi, is from a newer batch of clones.  Maybe there's some faulty cloning on Kamino; in the Kamino arc from the beginning of season 3 it was mentioned that Jango Fett's DNA was running thin.  Also, some of you may remember the villainous spider alien now turned cyborg Trench from way back in Season 2.  This marks the second time this guy has made it out of an exploding ship alive.  I was hoping he would stay dead, but I'm curious about  his role in this story.  And that brings us to the next clip...

END SPOILERS END SPOILERS END SPOILERS

This next clip shows the clone trooper Tup being taken to the medical facilities on Kamino for evaluation after his "breakdown."

So they're being told that his shooting a Jedi point blank in the back of the head is the result of a virus, hmm?  It's obviously a cover up, and it definitely seems like Dr. Nala Se knows something she's not telling anyone else...And how nice is it to see Shaak Ti again?  We haven't seen her in action since the beginning of Season 3!

Now this clip hints at a storyline I've been dying to know the answers to for years: the mystery of Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas.  In Attack of the Clones, we learned that Sifo-Dyas was the Jedi who went behind the Council's back to secretly commission the army from the Kaminoans.  This is another story the Expanded Universe has covered, and I'm happy to finally get the truth.  Did Sifo-Dyas foresee the rise of the Sith and commission the army to fight them?  Why not just say something to the council?  Of course, we do know that is Dooku involved in this somehow.  He's a rich aristocrat, and I imagine that a clone army is very expensive, not to mention the fact that he actually went out and hired Jango Fett to be the clone template.  Sifo-Dyas, as  Jedi, has no wealth.  Was he friends with Dooku?  Did Dooku have his ship sabotaged after the deal with the Kaminoans was done?

Yes!!  The return of Qui-Gon!  And Yoda finally gets his own story again!  The last time that happened was actually in the very first episode of the show that aired on television, way back in 2008.  The exciting thing about this is that it seems we'll finally get the answers as to how Yoda and Obi-Wan were the only Jedi to preserve their spirit in the Force after death.  Remember at the end of Revenge of the Sith how Yoda tells Obi-Wan that he has training for him in his isolation on Tatooine?  This is the beginning of that!

So it seems that Yoda's the only one hearing voices...and that somehow put him in the Jedi hospital?  Maybe the council just thinks he's delusional.  Either way, it's extremely amusing to see Yoda ask Anakin for help doing what Anakin does best: defying the council.  And it's neat to see Yoda's playful personality seen in Empire Strikes Back reappear.  Can I just talk for a moment about how amazing this animation is?  Because this animation is amazing.  They perfectly captured Yoda's gestures and the way he moves.  All of these clips look really incredible, from that intense sandstorm in the  Plo Koon clip to the battle in the very first clip (the spoilery one).  I still can't believe that we were getting computer animation that looks this awesome on a television show.  Star Wars Rebels has a tough act to follow.

On Friday I'll break down the Top 10 most awesome moments in the trailer for Season 6 "The Lost Missions" (the trailer can be found on the calendar page).  Until then, May The Force Be With You!!

Only 3 more days!!

    1. I will be doing a review for every single episode, including the Lost Missions, in chronological order. So you won't be seeing any reviews for the Lost Missions until I get to the end of the show.
